I think that
Lawrence Area School should not have a pet because they poop everywhere and
need lots of love and attention that we don’t always have time to give them.
Also some kids might be allergic and would spend all day sneezing while
we are trying to work.
Some pets can be
quite annoying. They jump all over you and leave their fur everywhere.
They would want to be patted while you were working and they would slobber all
over our stuff. Imaging trying to use a chromebook that had dog dribble
all over it. YUCK.
We couldn’t
leave our lunch boxes lying around as they would steal our food and nobody
wants hungry kids. Animals poop everywhere and Mr Healy and Ali would have to
clean it up, they already have to clean up yucky stuff like kids spew and that
is bad enough.
Then comes the
question of who would feed them. It might be okay during the week as
there would be lots of volunteers at school but who would do it after school
and on the weekends? Paying for the food would be expensive and might mean
Mrs May didn’t have any money left to buy Freddo Frogs for our class or new
paint brushes and scissors. Nobody wants that.
Then
comes the school holidays and who is going to look after this pet then?
It would have to go home with somebody which would be a massive
responsibility or it would have to stay at school and someone would have to go
and feed it every day. What a pain. Not to mention the fact that it
could get run over or killed staying with someone else. The pet might get very
lonely in the school holidays without all of the school children around.
Pets are a lot
of hard work and we already have to work really hard at school. I don’t
think that we should get a pet that will poop, dribble and mess up the school
and cost lots of money. I think pets are for families at their home, definitely
not for schools.
